20th April, 2025

Fellow citizens of the world 🌍, as we convene to commemorate the Easter Feast of 2025, I would like to utilize this auspicious occasion to share a poignant reflection that transcends the boundaries of religion, tribe, and race, in the spirit of this joyous celebration. The world we inhabit is akin to a chronometer, rotating through seconds, minutes, hours, and centuries with unfaltering precision. Similarly, human lives follow a trajectory replete with valuable lessons to be garnered and internalized.

We've all borne witness to remarkable metamorphoses – the affluent becoming indigent, and the humble ascending to greatness. These experiences impart essential values that are paramount to our collective well-being:

1. Treat others with reverence and respect: Regardless of status or position, every individual deserves dignity and compassion.

2. Utilize power judiciously: Refrain from abusing your office or influence to mistreat others, and instead, wield it to uplift and empower.

3. Value every human being: Recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every person you encounter, and treat them with empathy and kindness.

4. Be cognizant of accountability: The world may one day hold you accountable for your actions, attitudes, and deeds, and the manner in which you treated others.

5. Relinquish pride and biases: Discard your age, pride, sentiment, nepotism, and egotism, and be willing to extend a helping hand to others.

6. Practice empathy and kindness: Treat others with the same kindness and compassion that you would desire for yourself.

7. Cultivate love and compassion: View others as your own, and treat them with love, kindness, and understanding.

8. Karma is an immutable law: Your actions, attitudes, and deeds will inevitably come back to you in the future, either in this life or the next.

9. Leave a lasting legacy: Utilize your current position or status to create a positive impact that will outlast you.

As we reflect on these values, let us pose to ourselves the following introspective questions:

- What will I be remembered for? Will it be my kindness, compassion, and generosity, or my indifference and cruelty?

- What will people say about me when I'm gone? Will they eulogize my accomplishments, or lament my shortcomings?

- How would I feel if I had to serve those I didn't help? Would I feel a sense of regret, or would I be filled with a sense of purpose and fulfillment?

In the spirit of Easter, let us remember the paramount importance of compassion, kindness, and love. May this season bring us closer together, regardless of our differences, and may we emerge from it with a renewed sense of purpose, empathy, and understanding.

Wishing you a blessed Easter, filled with hope, love and joy.

Sincerely,

Amb. Chineke, Cajethan Goodluck
